ITES has been organizing 3-day collaborative workshops from that facilitate a culturally diverse science and cross-cultural approach to adaptation solutions to high impact weather and climate events, climate variability, and climate change. This event will include approximately 100 individuals representing from multiple levels of government, academia (tribal and non-tribal colleges and universities), the private sector and leading community members.
The collaborative discussions will assess community needs and opportunities to pursue joint approaches aimed at developing plans for community action towards sustainability will. The participants include representatives from multiple levels government, academia (tribal and non-tribal colleges and universities), the private sector and leading community members. This diverse group will work together to identify and define priorities that enable and promote collaboration with Indigenous communities across the U.S. and beyond.
March 2022 Update: The workshops are being conducted via Zoom, YouTube Channel, and teleconferencing. The scope has grown to include 350+ participants spanning the U.S. and Territories, Canada, Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas, and Western Samoa.
